Budding Music Sensations, TEANEVA Interview!

We recently discovered TEANEVA through the online reality series produced and created by our former Online Editor-In-Chief, Calynn M Lawrence, called Chicago Talent. We're so ecstatic that this happened because they are phenomenal. We truly believe that they're gonna dominate the game SOON!

TEANEVA (ta-nay-va) is a Pop/R&B sister duo who fell in love with singing at a very tender age. Although natives of Madison, Wisconsin; after discovering their true talent and passion for singing, TEANEVA’s parents took a leap of faith, closing down their salon, packed up their family of six and headed straight to the Windy City!

Considering the fact that both girls were homeschooled before relocating;Tea 16 and Eva 15 wasted no time in getting down to business. Within less than a year both auditioned and accepted into a Chicago performing arts high school as vocalist. Tea and Eva school days consist of nine long hours from 8am-5:00pm and still their passion for music remains.  “We believe that hard work will earn our success along the way. 

When not at school TEANEVA’s busy writing songs, updating social media or networking with local artist. A social life is far in between, but dear friends understand. Our parents taught us to focus on your goals, not the obstacles and that’s exactly what we intend to do! It’s definitely an commitment, but it’s not impossible.”

The duo’s name TEANEVA are both their names conjoined with the letter N in the middle. “We wanted a stage name that represented our bond. We thought what better way to do that then to connect our names! We realize we have a gift of voice as young artist and as young black women. We want to spread empowerment in our music”

TEANEVA’s music promotes positivity, independence and a good time! Vocally they have their own unique sound. Apart, Tea has the sultry runs with power behind her voice that could fill up a football stadium. While Eva has a effortlessly 5 octave range that could break a glass. Together, the duo voices intertwine to create TEANEVA’s magical sound! “This is only the beginning of our journey. Stay tuned!”
