Who Is G Simone!?!

5 MINUTES WITH G SIMONE
An O.G. #GirlBoss In The Entertainment Industry

Have you ever met someone that was cool beyond their age? Someone that spoke such truths and packed such a punch that you could not help but admire them? I have. That’s Miss G Simone. She’s every bit of awesome with a slither of street and somehow that comes together as the fabulousness that is her persona. This article is just a quick 5 minute interview that I had with her.

Who are you? GSimone is a music industry maven, who’s career has roots stemming back to the nineties. I have released many well received projects such as my songs “I Know, You Know” and “Music For The 90’s.” My EP, “My Music, Your Conversation”, revealed a sultry and
melodic sound that is quintessential old school R&B.

Today  I reimagine my musical vision through EDM on my new single “Queen From the Ghetto.” This track is far more than sonically pleasing, it has a message. “Queen From The Ghetto” embodies my mission to uplift and encourage people to thrive, regardless of background;
all while providing an uptempo beat and catchy lyrics you can dance to.

Introduce yourself in 3 sentences or less? Often praised for her complex lyricism and unique voice, Simone G. Parker—perhaps better known as “GSimone”—is a singer, songwriter and producer. She is also the CEO of RAMP Recordings + RAMP Entertainment.

Why did you get started doing music?  When I was 16, I would always sing in the car around my friends and they would say “you have a nice voice.” So, I started recording with a guy named Sam. We did a few songs and videos. Then, I got into acting and modeling a bit. When I auditioned at the Apollo, it was definitely a push in the right direction when I  was told that I was a good performer. I sang an Anita Baker song. Sadly, I never followed up.

What is your favorite thing about doing music? Writing songs. I envelop myself into a story and imagine how the listener will feel when they hear the lyrics.

How would you classify yourself? Genre wise. Or do you not have a genre? I am like a box of crayons. I am a multitude of colors. Sometimes it’s Hip-Hop, EDM, Reggae, R&B, Jazz I love all Music.

What are some goals of yours? To write songs that heal people, inspire people, help people.

Upcoming projects? I am currently working on my 7 song EP titled “Arrived”, to be released in late October along with a new book “Identifying Your FAITH.”

What is one thing you hate about the music industry? No no no, I don’t hate. If you hate you hate yourself first. The industry is the industry. There’s nothing to not like, it’s just something to master.

Talk a little bit about the concept of "girl power" or being a #girlboss ?
Maybe we should hash tag (lady boss). I have an acronym for LADY - Love And Develop Yourself. That’s what it’s all about, the discovery and development of who you are.

Tell me some of your favorite artists? I am a fan of the new and the old Ms Hill, Ms Badu, Alicia Keys,  Detranada , Ms Malato, Dynasty the DY, Mary J Blige, Little Mo, Michelle, Carbi B, Sza, Sade, Lady Luck, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, J Cole, Common, Sarah  McClachlan, Will I Am, the list goes on

What inspires you? My family

Enjoyed the interview? I know you did! ;-) Here’s where you can find Miss Simone G. Go check her out :

The Sunset Kings Collaborate with T-Pain's Protege Miu

The pop sensation from Haiti met The Sunset Kings frontman at CDBaby’s DIY Music Conference in Chicago last September where they learned from industry staples such as music blogger and lifestylist Ari Herstand, rock photographer Becky Yee, and Patreon founder Jack Conte.
David, Miu’s manager, says about The Sunset Kings,

“There are plenty of musicians we met in Chicago, but what we like about The Sunset Kings is they are authentic.  They’re not trying to prove anything to anybody.”

The budding partnership continued long-distance; while The Sunset Kings continue to embed themselves as active contributors to the Boston arts community with their release of “Rose-Tinted Raybans” (https://youtu.be/aPW27UVX-yk), Miu’s international career has grown steadily as crowds in Miami and New York City begin to match her audience in Port-au-Prince.
Now Hear This Entertainment’s feature of Miu attributes her success not only to her work ethic and ambition but on the fact that she is,

“Multi-lingual, she participated in an international competition that resulted in a single with American artist T-Pain. She has collaborated with various arrangers from locations ranging from St. Lucia to Puerto Rico, Tanzania, the United States, and, of course, Haiti, and also published a book of poems in French and plans on writing again.”

Garnering over 277,000 YouTube views on her Fall 2015 single, “They Say”, Miu’s artistic energy is undeniable, and her collaboration with The Sunset Kings is bound to result in a sound we haven’t yet heard from either artist.

What is University of Fashion?

Do you have a passion for fashion? Are you thinking of a career in the apparel industry?  Do you want to start your own fashion design business? Do you need to brush up on your existing fashion design skills? If so, then check-out the University of Fashion at www.UniversityofFashion.com.
UoF offers the first and largest library of on-demand, step-by-step, fashion design lessons in the world. UoF has hundreds of video lessons that teach all aspects of fashion design, such as draping, pattern making, sewing, fashion art, product development, fashion business, computer assisted design, knits, childrenswear and more. And importantly, all of UoF’s tutorials are taught by experienced fashion designers, never amateurs.

UoF’s founder, Francesca Sterlacci, started her fashion career by creating her own label, Francesca Sterlacci, LTD, in New York City. For the next ten years, her sportswear and leather collections graced the covers of WWD, and retailed at high-end stores ranging from Bergdorf Goodman and Saks to specialty boutiques such as Linda Dresner and Maxfield’s.

In 1990, Francesca began teaching part-time at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. In the next eleven years, she rose to become the Chair of the school’s Fashion Design Department, where she initiated a complete update of FIT’s fashion design program. During her tenure, Francesca created some of the school’s most popular certificate programs: Leather Fashion Design, Haute Couture Design and Performance Apparel. In 2004, Francesca moved to California to start the University of Fashion, write two new fashion design books and teach graduate level courses at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Inspired by the entrepreneurship surrounding her in Silicon Valley and the emerging popularity of online education, Francesca started the University of Fashion in 2008. She has since become an online fashion education revolutionary, offering the most cost-effective way to teach fashion in today’s “tell me only what I need to know and make it fast” educational environment.

The University of Fashion uses only fashion college professors, established designers and industry professional to teach its video lessons. UoF then films these qualified instructors in high definition, in a well-lit studio, as they present their knowledge and experience through easy-to-follow, step by step demonstrations. In most lessons, the instructor’s work is filmed over the instructor’s shoulder. This means that you can see what’s being demonstrated in the same way that you would see it if you were doing it yourself. One of the best things about video lessons is that students can repeatedly replay a particularly difficult-to-learn segment in a certain lesson over and over again, until they are sure they’ve truly mastered it. You simply can’t do this with the in-class demonstrations performed by live teachers in most schools. In addition, UoF provides written transcripts with each of its lessons so that students can read and study what the instructor is saying. In the unlikely event a UoF student still needs further help with a lesson, she or he can fill-in a special form provided on the UoF website and get a prompt response, often in the same day, from one of UoF’s staff designers.

The University of Fashion’s mission is to preserve the hands-on aspects of fashion design, while making fashion design education affordable for those living all around the world. But, the UoF not only helps beginner fashion students, it also helps the many thousands of students currently enrolled in fashion colleges. These students subscribe to the University of Fashion to learn faster, to learn new subjects not taught in their schools, to save on tutoring expenses and to help them remember and practice the many complex, hands-on techniques they see in their classes.

UoF offers tutorials for everyone interested in crafting a career in fashion, from budding fashion designers creating their first designs to industry professionals looking to upgrade their skills. UoF offers a comprehensive, yet convenient, set of educational tools that can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for an affordable price. Everyone subscribing to the UoF library gets unlimited use of the school’s vast online, on-demand library and access to every lesson and resource available on the site. The UoF is literally “always there for you.”

At UoF, it doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or a professional. The University of Fashion assures that you’ll become the best designer you can possibly be!

A Few Words With Miss Jaine Lopez, The Founder of Miss Planetary

Jaine Lopez is a proven Executive and Entrepreneur with over 20 years of professional experience working at many corporate offices in management positions. As a woman who understands that to give is better than receive, she also gives back to the community through her not for profit organizations, the YLCT Foundation and Miss Planetary. These organizations serve to empower women and give them a balanced view of outter beauty and inner beauty. These organizations provide model coaching with gigs, pageant coaching and placement as well as mentoring, scholarships and career coaching. She has demonstrated leadership with he organizations at local, state and national level advocating for better opportunities for young women.

- Describe Miss Planetary mission and purpose in a couple sentences.

The mission of YLCT Foundation’s and Miss Planetary non-profit organizations is to foster and with the contribution of the sponsors provide innovative educational environments, opportunities, and experiences that enable for all the youth and all the young people in the world, families, communities, and the region to grow, thrive, and prosper.

- What do you think are the definitions of success and failure?

To be truly successful, we must be honest about yourself and understand who we are and what our passion are. True success in life cannot be measured but success is represented with the amount of people that are able to live a better and more advanced life because of what we created. That is the meaning of success, not the trophies people are collecting in their lives. Miss Planetary Organization believes that the meaning of success is to live a happy life and to make this world a better place for everyone. Failure is when you don’t utilize your strengths and resources to help others.

- Why do you think it is important to incorporate both life coaching and modeling coaching for the girls who participate in Miss planetary programs?

Miss Planetary organization believes that by coaching young women helps them through their personal problems, assist them with career decisions, and help them attain any of the goals that they are trying to reach. Miss Planetary Organization coaching provides ongoing support to the young models and contestants. Miss Planetary Organization coaching encompasses taking action, and holding them accountable for their life until they reach their desired goals or dreams. When it comes to walking a runway, posing in a photoshoot or going into a job interview, we teach the same diligence and dedication to all of our participants. As young aspiring individuals, many of them have come to grow in their careers, personal lives and education. We strive to make sure that their maturity and knowledge is in sync with their outer beauty. Because those instillations will carry over into life as a fashion model, beauty queen, doctor or CEO. The point is to help mold more well rounded young women for the next generation to run the world.

- Why do you and your team ensure that you have model diversity in all of your fashion shows and photo shoots?

Miss Planetary Organization recognizes the beauty in people of all races, ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. Our mission is to help foster the shift in the faces of fashion. We acknowledge that having a wide variety of young women representing us will not only give equal opportunity to girls of all aesthetics, but will set a better example for so many other organizations that fail to provide this.
Skin color, dress size and hair texture are nonfactors in the proven ability to be a successful woman. All of our models stand for their own kind of “beautiful.” That melting pot of various cultures, backgrounds, and appearances is what helps to empower, encourage and educate our participants into the sisterhood that we promote.

YLCT Foundation’s and Miss Planetary non-profit organizations engages in a process of self and community reflection that would lead us to recognize and heighten awareness of core values. YLCT Foundation’s and Miss Planetary non-profit organizations have already practiced and articulated these during charity events, supporting other non-profit organizations and 2015 and 2016 Miss Planetary Scholarship Pageant.

Who Is Paige Ryan The Model?

"Greetings!

I am a professional, traveling model with experience in various print projects, promotional events and fashion runway shows around the Illinois area and abroad.

I am also the current Ms. Worldwide Chicago Ambassador for Live Out Loud Charity for 2016 - 2017 where I advocate for Suicide Prevention, Anti-Bullying, PTSD and Domestic Abuse. I hope to change the language and negative stigma associated with mental illness among the inner city so that individuals will feel unashamed to seek out resources, support and help that could be life-saving.

My love for fashion and business led me to intern for various events and shows to learn more about the industry as a whole. A natural planner, I now use the knowledge I've learned to work as a Celebrity Assistant for some of the Midwest's top events.

In my leisure time, I am an avid reader and writer. I have written countless works of poetry and performance pieces as well as 1 novella.
Overcoming many obstacles of my youth, I hope to inspire others as they follow my exciting journey through the world of modeling.

Who Is Jacqui Monea? We'll Tell You

Jacqui Monea is a rising author and business graduate! She holds a Bachelor's of Science majoring in Human Resources and Organizational Leadership. She is currently pursuing an MBA. For her day job, she works in the Housing Authority industry, utilizing her college education to successfully accomplish her career. She enjoys activities where she can impact the community and make a difference through her work. Between being a full-time management professional and a part-time creative, she keeps quite busy!

As if she wasn't impressive enough with her zealous strides to better her community, she is also a striking writer with a pen that packs a punch! She has channeled her intellect and ambitious nature into what was once a passion project, and is now an urban novel with a small but mighty fan base! First released in the fall of 2016, "Innocence In A Sense" tells the story of a young woman from Chicago who has her share of men, enemies, and challenges. Facing all that life has to throw at her, the main character, Coffee, uses romance as a way to cope with it all. You get to envision the character as she goes through many trials and tribulations trying to reach her fairytale ending. This book is real, raw, and jumps straight into drama from page one! It does not hold back anything! Created for a mature audience, intertwining urban fiction, love stories and thrills, her readers have given her great positive feedback about this book.

The follow-up novel, "Stormy Days and Lonely Nights" is due to be released in the Spring of 2017.

Lori Diamond Art, Marking The Movement For Art and Charity

You look at the image above and see a plethora of euphoric visual symbols that all connect to elude an uplifting vibe. That is not by mistake. The painting above was created by wonderous artist, Lori Diamond in pursuit of bringing hope to the universe. She wants this painting, although physically abstracted to give a clear sense of hope, faith and life to ones around the world. Her deepest philanthropic passion is to contribute to the emotional and physical wellbeing of children suffering serious illnesses. She acknowledges that art is a very powerful concept that can impact one's state of mind to a great degree. The only issue is to open the eyes of society so that they can come to recognize this as well. That is why she is marking a movement through her artistic practice to spread hope throughout the world.

There is a very succinct connection between aesthetic value, cognitive value and spiritual value.

The asthetic value of something is determined by how visually impactful it is. How does it catch your eye? Her art work presents blatant technical skill, use of softly saturated color and great pattern execution.

The cognitive value of something is determined by what it makes you think. Does it turn geers in your head or are you left unaffected? Clearly, the composition above makes you think of many principles that could possibly be represented by the various visual metaphors. For example, the four diamonds in teh center are circling the focal poin, that is a sun-like object with a peace symbol at its core. One could interpret that this is meant to exemplify how an inner calm or tranquility can be equated to or superior to the possession of material wealth. Also, you could interepret that this could be implying that the possession of hope, peace and serenity is the greatest treasure possible, not materials.

Lastly, the emotional value that something gives is determined by how something makes you feel. Does the object evoke heavy emotions or does it not impact you at all? With the piece above, it sooths the onlooker and puts one at ease. The entire composition does nothing but relax the individual while simultaneously empowering and comforting them.

This is just one of Lori Diamond's many pieces that she will be debuting over time. As said before, this is the mark of a movement. So, stay tuned for updates. For more information on her and her work, please visit the links below!
